Pact vs benjysmyth's khemri with an impressive 7/1/3 record.

They kick off and roll up a blitz, but it doesn't faze us too much as the kick is deep. We badly hurt a skelly on the LOS and then punch a hole through the middle with a mino blitz. They send in a couple of mummies to knock him over and rush forwards with their DP skeleton- but the ref is wise to him and sends him off before his raised boot can come stomping down!

T3 and we've gotten the ball through in our rookie skaven's hands to score unthreatened the following turn.

We kick off and they manage to fumble the pickup with their +AGI blitz-ra so we dash a marauder through - but he trips up on the second GFI badly hurting himself!

They secure the ball this time and start moving it down one side, with a good couple of turns in a row leaving us struggling to get near their blitzra. They -MA injure a marauder and we use our apo to save him, and on T8 we finally get a 1d blitz with our dark elf that rerolled knocks their ballcarrier over! The elf fails to pick up the ball but drops it handily backwards away from our endzone. Their only chance to score now is with a skeleton pickup and pass.. but it comes to nothing.

A mummy and a skelly in their KO box fail to wake up so we kick off w/ 11 vs just 9 to start the second half. They KO a marauder on T1 but from then on we have them on the back foot as we press in with our big guys, our block mino looking particularly dangerous as usual. T2 we stun their +AGI blitzra with the ball, but poor block dice on T3 prevent us from making the most of it. They manage to make space and grab the ball with a skelly, but our mino blitzes over to make things awkward. The skelly 1d blocks our dark elf and is forced to wrestle himself to the ground- and a waiting tomb guardian catches the ball! We soon solve that issue and run the ball into their half in the hands of an unguarded marauder. Their blitzra can't knock him down with 2dice and is then KO'd in return, pretty much settling the game.

This was indeed a very fun game vs. a chatty and skilled coach who I hope to play again. Cool match report too! :D

Reflecting on the changes to the Khemri team, the loss of Mighty Blow on the Tomb Guardians didn't seem to be a major issue at low TV, but as we are moving up and other teams are getting bashing skills it is leaving us exposed. AV7 on the skellies wont hold out long and you need to keep the numbers on each team at least equalised or you will get swarmed, as has happened in the last two games. One Cas from 103 blocks in those two games tells its own story and has proved to be our undoing. Damn site bug ate our MVP too!

Representative of the problem, Tutt'n'Butt gains his first Cas after 80 blocks over 12 games, learning Mighty Blow to try and speed up reaching Veteran status.

Coach Smyth also assigns extra blocking practice for the entire Striders team over the next few days. More hurtin' needed when next we take to the field boys!
