Week 4 (Week 3 was a rain-out forfeited in the Crusaders favor)

2 Handicaps against - Morley's Revenge (Udolpho Quasimodo and Berlifitzing) and Extra Training

This was a very crazy game with lots of excitement. The Crusaders opted to kick because the Paintreeots started with only 10 players (a hobgoblin wimped out to a niggling injury). However, the Paintreeots weren't ready to roll over just yet and got a KO on Udolpho early followed by Schedoni, some zombies and both wolves. The Crusaders were failing armor rolls left and right. Melmoth the Wanderer was fouled to death by Die On Branch but that cost the Paintreeots the score. A zombie was killed but regenerated, but Melmoth was not so fortunate. However, the Crusaders were able to recover the ball and chucked it downfield. The Paintreeots and the Crusaders headed for the ball in a mad rush. A Bull Centaur reached it first but fumbled the pickup. Ambrosio the Mad Monk swooped in from nowhere, picked it up and ran it in for a TD as time expired in the half (pick up in traffic, a dodge, and a GFI). Oh, both teams fouled in the 1st half, each resulting in a CAS. Each time the ref tried to eject the player but the coaches successfully argued the call.

2nd half and the Crusaders were receiving. They were able to field 11 against the Paintreeots 9. The ball was kicked and the Crusaders fans Got the Ref! Probably in retaliation for the death of Melmoth (may he RIP). The Crusaders started hitting Paintreeots and taking the free fouls. Most of the fouls were stuns only, but we did manage to get a few KOs towards the end and removed 1 player with a BH. Not as productive as it should have been given a DP and a ton of assists. Meanwhile Schedoni advanced the ball downfield in a semi-cage. Bull Stave Nailsin made a nice move to get around the edge of the cage and put a TZ on Schedoni. The Crusaders rallied, opening a lane and Schedoni handed off to Montoni. The Paintreeots tried to get a man on Montoni but to no avail. A few more hits and fouls and Montoni walked it into the endzone on T8. The ensuing final kickoff resulted in a Blitz! so the Crusaders decided to try and remove 1 of the 6 remaning players but only got a stun. There was a tense moment as the Paintreeots managed to get Loup-Garou du Gevaudan onto the ground and Bull Stave Nailsin came over to foul but nothing came of it and the game ended.

Great game ryanfitz. One of the more exciting ones I've played in a while. You also solved a dilemma I was facing with my TR getting too high for next season. Shouldn't have to worry about that now :)
