Fulham were drawn against the rookie Newcastle team in the second round of the cup.

Fulham attacked first, as the Newcastle players struggled with the early pace of the game, limped off the field. The Vampires did manage to clear a gap through to the ball carrier, but when it failed there was little they could do to stop Fulham scoring for 1-0.

The second half was much more even, as Newcastle made a break down the flank. Fulham were quick to close the gap, but an error by one of the defenders allowed Newcastle through to score for 1-1. There was little time left for Fulham to score, but with little defence in their way the ball was given to to Simon Morgan who scored for 2-1 and the win.

It could easily have gone to overtime, but the score was probably best all round, allowing Fulham to prepare for the next round and Newcastle to avoid further injury.
