“Despite the score, this was actually a defensive game.
First half, the DE receive and I manage to break into their defenses with my SB wardancer and get the ball loose. It falls among a bunch of TZ, but it doesn't take long to get it secured and we score to go up 1-0 early.
The DE herd us over to the sidelines on their next attempt, and crowd the ball among a ton of players, surfing us and keeping us away from the ball. We nearly manage to hold, but with no reroll a T8 GFI scores the tying TD. 1-1.
Ahh, but we were kicking, we've got one more turn and a MA10, Sure Feet catcher, who gets a couple pushes before waltzing through for an OTT. 2-1.
Second half, we receive, and our thrower tosses to a catcher who retreats towards our end zone. The DE advance and mark most of our players, but not all. We punch an area clear in the middle, freeing up a wardancer who needs 3 spp for a skill. The catcher comes up and tosses it...on the ground...SNAKES!! The DE recover and are quickly chased into the end zone, 2-2.
For our final drive, we mostly ran past and around the DE, letting our AG6, blodging sidestepper line-elf take care of the ball. He took a few stray hits, but always stayed on his feet. At the end he handed off to that 3-spp-needing wardancer who made it 3-2.
The final gasp was a 2-turn attempt to score, which we hung back for. The DE ran past our LOS and walled/marked our back players. With no rerolls though, they failed the pickup, and we secured it for a win.
