“Fun game. Calgar hadn't played in a while, but shook off the rust pretty quickly. He played a high-risk, high-reward style that constantly pressured my elves, and took the ball to the ground several times.
(fun fact: with AG6, an interception is just a 3+)
The two interceptions are what kept this to a tie. After a clean 1-0 in the first half, Emerald Fire made a quick score to start the second half, then on my drive, wardancered the ball and passed it out of reach to go up 2-1.
Some solid and careful positioning made it hard enough for wardancer cage-breaking that I got him to fail the steal attempt, and finished up with a T15 score to tie. T16, with no one-turners and no Blitz! or Injury Time, was quiet.
Highlight of the post-game: Lieutenant Redplume skilled up +ST (to go with his Blodge/Sidestep)
(fun fact 2: in 54 games with this wood elf team, those were my first 2 INTs)
GG Calgar. Fun time. Rematch at your convenience.”
