#15 Sings'a'Rainbow – Broken Ribs (MNG)
“The Evergreens laid out a lovely pre-match spread: Lavender tea, cucumber sandwiches, cheesecake. We were spoilt.
And then ... what a fantastic stadium and wonderful condition the pitch was in. Truly a highlight of our tour. If only we could play up to the welcome we had received.
And we did.
With trademark wing play we passed our way into a 2-1 halftime lead. Although it must be said that our galant hosts were mighty unlucky with their dodging.
After halftime and with a lead on the scoreboard, we let the adreniline get to us, and we were a little over rough. Our sincere apologies to our hosts. A bumper packet of Paracetamol are in the post.
And then ... second half ... our most amazing Touchdown of the tour! Such pride filled our green-elfy chests.
But, with grace and style our evergreen opponents pegged the scoreline back, showing such speed and flair! They were like streaks of lightning as we staired slack jawed at the clouds. The game was levelled at 3 a piece!
Hushed ... baited breath ... edge of seats. Could the tourers score a winning TD? Ahhh ... no! A pass too many for the plucky graduates.
The sporting home team made a gift of Tulips to the GooFers, soon to adorn their tour bus. The highlight of their tour to date and a very hard act to follow. Hats off to Dalfort and his Evergreen Woodies!”

The match could have only ended fairly in a draw but that may seem to dismiss the effort both teams put into making this a classic of unique proportions.
I urge anyone who enjoys banter and fluff to play host to G oo F as they are worthy opponents of the highest standard in politeness and etiquette.
