“UMBBL Tour 2010 III - 3 TR 200 - final
-----------------------------------------------------
There won't be any fair play win for machtnix after politely asking me to host the match and then sneak firing a lineman to get a handicap, but then again this is Blood Bowl, not tennis.
I was somewhat gutted at the unfortunate start of the match, with Klob Kneekrusha niggling out, the handicap turning out to be Morley's (which had a huge impact on my possibilities to foul), my remaining dp getting ejected on his first foul, machtnix getting the ref from the kick-off and managing to steal the ball in the 2nd turn. It was about as bad as it gets.
Beside the uphill start though, with a somewhat fortunate TD for the opponent in T7, I had my chances. If I could have just broken my usual tendency to fall on the finish line it could have at least been decided in OT.
Machtnix won based on skill in the end though. His good placement of his stand firm players, his decision to go for Ripper instead of me wasting about as much on a useless wizard, the sneak fired lineman to get a handicap. It was all shrewd tactics that gave him the advantage to get a grip of the match.
For the Nigglaz it's a fall forward to reach the final in an official tournament. Maybe next time.
