“Great thriller of a match. It went back and forth a lot of times, so in that respect the result is a good indicator of how equally the teams were matched.
“We're up against Calthor's chaos team who get two handicaps: bad press + knuckledusters on a CW. We only have 10 players vs their 12.
We start things off with a blitz that lets us rush players towards the ball, but quickly mess it up with some poor blocking dice. They get players back and on T2 we manage to grab the ball in 3 TZs with our AGI5 gobbo (4+), but with the 2 ogres nearby both boneheaded they easily blitz him down. They fumble the pickup for the 2nd time, but again we fail blocks before we can try and steal it, and on T4 they push an ogre into the ball bouncing it into a beastman's hands before BHing a beastman with double skulls. We block the ballcarrier with two ogres, but can't knock him over, and both teams are now out of rerolls. They go for the dodge to saftey... but trip up!
We steal it but a 3d blitz with a catch sees them recover, but we run back ogres to surround him and then make a double GFI blitz to knock the ball loose yet again. They target our AGI5 gobbo, stunning him which makes our final attempt at a TD difficult... and indeed impossible when the ball scatters into a beastman's hands after our blitz.
0-0 at half time and we have 9 vs their 10 now.
We receive and move down one side til on T3 they have a great turn ending in a blitz that BH's our AGI5 with the ball. We recover with our only other gobbo and on T5 run him deep towards their endzone- he's all alone and with a 3d blitz they can KO him and recover the ball. Just ogres left on the pitch now!
And just when we need it most half our ogres bonehead at once, and they follow this up with a great turn knocking over most of the rest (including a KILL the apo saves), but fortunately on T7 a double 1 on a GFI means it's going to be a draw!
GG Calthor”
