“A rematch from the Refugees' second game, and one that ended even worse for Riversmet's team. The boys took a beating, especially at the hands of VJ the flesh golem, and didn't have a lot of luck going their way on the armor rolls. The Refugees' core, their blitzers, did everything they could to keep the team in the game, but against the unrelenting might of the flesh golems and the werewolves there just wasn't any hope.

Despite having no business doing so, Riversmet nearly managed to eke out a tie. Blitzer Kyrne Viadro managed to dodge away from a zombie and squeak into the endzone late in the second half (T6) to even the game out at 1-1, but the Refugees were left with only six players on the field and Cuba with three turns to reclaim the lead. Things went about as badly as can be expected, with the last hope coming on T8 as Lineman Caine Gilfyn dodged away from a Flesh Golem and was forced to make a 2db-against block against the ball-carrying werewolf Paco. An improbable success was not in the cards, though, and Caine went down on a skull as Paco cruised into the endzone on the final turn.

The Refugees are battered and bloodied something awful with potentially only seven players for their next match, and the critical question remains: Keep trying to tough it out, or send the team to that big Blood Bowl pitch in the sky?”
