The good - Ia'Cheep Browngorger, my 1-turn gutter runner, scored 4 TDs, including one late in the 2nd half that sealed the game after a blitz on a skink knocked the ball out of bounds and I got a good throw-in. I believe that's the first time I've ever scored 4 TDs in a game by the same player. This gave him enough SPPs to skill up his 3rd skill. Also, my newer storm vermin, Ug'breek Blackpelt, finally got his 1st skill after getting a CAS and the VP.
The bad - This time I actually managed 2 CAS and 4 TDs, so I had a +2 on the FF roll. Naturally, I rolled a 3. &;@#% !!! I had a +4 on the winnings roll, and rolled... a 2. Double &;@#% !!!!!! Seriously, At the rate I'm taking casualties each game, I'm not going to be able to field a full team.
The ugly - Ah, yes. Speaking of casualties. I used the apothecary early in the game to prevent a niggling injury to my 15 SPP Block linerat. Normally I would not do this, but I figured if anyone else good died or was crippled, I'd just retire the team so I was playing like there was no tomorrow. This did help me win, being recklessly aggressive, but it led to Deek's (aforementioned linerat) death. Well, not technically - his AV 7 led to his death, but since he had Block I was using him to mark unskilled Sauri a lot, and one of them eventually broke armor. <sigh> At least he didn't get any more SPPs or the MVP this game. Add to that devestating loss, I had 2 unskilled linerats get crippled, 1 on the very last turn of the game! The -AG on Kith'rhex is no big deal, he will continue to play on the LOS, but the -AV on Ix'vreek (incidentally, the last hit of the game) is probably a career ender.
A moment of silence seems in order for Deek the Sneak. He, along with Skagrot Bladerot, were the only original members of the Marshholders at 25 games apiece. Now Skagrot will have to carry that torch alone. Thanks for your loyal service, Deek, you will be sorely missed.
Skills (2):
Ug'breek Blackpelt - Guard
Ia'Cheep Browngorger - &;@#% me! Aged on 3rd skill and got a niggling injury. I'm taking Block, but I think this may be the end of the Mourning Marshholders.”
