Handicap against - Palmed Coin (SirOrange opted to receive)
Vampires are always tough to play, and even moreso when they burn through rerolls early. The first half I did my best to stop the score, and came close but in the end SirOrange was using the vamps 4 AG to get down the field and scored. But he left me 3 turns and it was just barely enough for me to pull off a pass and a gfi. I almost didn't make it when I skulled out T6 and T7 the No Garlic squad knocked the ball out. But my own AG 4 and some timely blitzes allowed me to equalize it at the half. 2nd half saw neither squad able to field 11, but SirOrange had lost more players (mine was only a KO). The kickoff was a perfect defense, so I had to alter my plans. I opted to go for the quick score to get my KO back and pressure on defense. This plan almost backfired when a vamp broke loose and put a 2-die hit on my blitzer ball-carrier. It took a lot of positioning but I was able to knock the ball loose. Or rather, SirOrange did when he tried to blitz with his own ball-carrier and skulled out. I picked it up and made a break for it. I had enough protection to get in on T6. Then on T7 SirOrange skulled out again on the LOS before he could get a receiver downfield and that was the game.
Thanks for the game, SirOrange, it was a lot closer than the score shows. You had some bad dice after your rerolls were gone. As I said during the game, I was sort of counting on that, and that's never a good strategy. Once you get a few more rerolls for protection, you'll have a formideable team. I'm happy to be moving ahead in the tournament, but I'm going to have to play better if I hope to win this month.
