The Miners attacked first, but they seemed somewhat rusty from the close season. They tried to progress up the pitch, but errors by the players allowed the Zealots to halt the attack, steal the ball from zones and sprint up field for the score.
The second half saw the Zealots attack, but whilst the Miners faired somewhat better, the failed blocks and GFI's continued. Eventually the Miners had a chance to score for 1-1, but a failed catch at the end sealed their fate and defeat.
