Lustrian Challenge IV Qualifier II FINAL

The Swogglers came in to this one as clear underdogs against a full strength dark elf side fielding completely mutant players including two ag6 elves as well as a wiz. With only 1 DP and not enough numbers to keep on fouling things didnt bode well.

The dark elves received and both sides kept it tight and central at the start of the half with the orcs laying down tackleznones before blitzing and fouling to BH one of the guard dark elf linos.
Met with the wall of orcs the darkies decided to push towards the right flank commiting most of their team there.
The swogglers moved to meet them contesting the flank but holding the centre too fearful to overcommit. Legendary blitzer Pootash smashed an ag5 leapguarding Elf to the ko box.

T3 the darkies continued down the right flank but didnt make enough ground to get over the gain line. The orcs pushed the play further towards the sideline and after making a gap coach Grit pondered for a while laying down a dice against strip on the carrier. Worried about a fail leaving the side out of position and legend orc surfed he elected to be more defensive though and just put a tz on the carrier- ending the turn with another boot to KO.

With the right flank still open to move through the darkies made ground, making a key pushback on Pootash to leave him needing to roll some dice to hit the carrier. The orcs put pressure on to avoid a stall and Pootash made his run.... only to fail the 4+ dodge needed. The spectators champions fans roared as the darkies than ran in a turn 5 score.

With only 3 turns to reply the slower orcs knew they would have to haul green ass but chose not to field the goblin for a ttm chance.
Recovering the ball from the kickoff the thrower handed off to the safe mits of Pootash and the orcs settled the carrier into a midfield position, with the standfirm orc blitzer the only player to make a deep run.

The dark elf reply saw one of the superstar Black orcs brought to ground. In something of an overcommit half the dark elf team then surrounded the Black orc and stuck the boot in. The Orc was only badly hurt, but the apoth came on to keep him in the fight!
With much of the elf team now on the orcs left flank they made a charge down the right but also placed players to tie up the 'foul cage'

In a bold move which could of won the game the spectators champions wizard sprung into action.... well sprung is a loose definition, he kind of rolled off his chair and let fly a fire... tennis ball?
The resulting heat only singed orc armhair and much knashing of teeth was heard from the fans. Instead of moving in to recover a loose ball the dark elf defence moved to block off the flank under attack and did a pretty good job of it.

Lacking numbers and space the orcs started their turn 7 with quite a few dice rolls including the standfirm blitzer dodging and GFI'n towards the sideline. The orcs then blocked one of the dark elf screen out of the way before pootash blitzed the other clear and got himself into scoring range..... somewhat suicidally though and with some dark elf good blocks the surf was always going to be a possibility........

Some good blocks later, Pootash gritted his teeth and he prepared to meet his fans up close! He was greeted only by hugs and kisses and requests for autographs though and incredibly luckily for coach grit KrockerCroaker caught the boucning ball on a 6!
With a troll tz and another orc chained free of tackleznones to apply an assist KrockerCroaker blitzed his way clear and ran in the score to rapturous boooooo's from the crowd to tie it up 1-1 on the half.

Second half saw the fired up darkies play a blitz, but with the ball too deep to retreive they ran a couple of players through a small gap to put pressure on.
The orc thrower retreived the ball cleanly though, throwing the ball back to a grinning pootash, still sporting lipstick from the visit to the orc crowd earlier.
Detritus the troll broke his tackler and formed the last corner of a deep cage. The grind was on!

The orcs drove on for the next 3 turns, smiteing elves left and right with fist and boot and generally playing a blinder (ty nuffle) Getting sloppy with the amount of guard around the carrier though the DE found a place to use their str4AG6 mutant along with a leaping guard and..... the agility rolls were made only for the block dice to come up skulls..... oooof.

Pootash was cleared of tacklezones and moved foward into another dodgy looking cage. With a cheeky ag3 dodge first to complete a screen the ag6 mutant was then booted in the face, badly hurt as he was the apoth kept him on the pitch....
The AG6 mutant dusted himself off and attempted a 1 dice block on pootash, but Poot fended him off successfully.
Despite the lack of elves on the pitch the orcs still found themselves needing to made some ground to run in a score and made forward and parked a tight cage within strolling distance of the line at turn 7 before returning to boot the ag6 mutant and this time seriously injuring him.

The dark elves put a last desperate tacklzone on Poot but a chain and a smash later The Legend jogged in for his 48th career touchdown.
