It was perfect BloodBowl weather at the Light City Stadium (tm). Obviously, since it's artificially made to be so. The Armadillos were greeting the more experienced Innsbruck Highflyers welcome, and from the very start it looked to be a much less violent match than what the Armadillos had seen in their earlier matches.

The Armadillos recieved and from the very start Timothy "Stealth" White tried for a quick run down the field. Unfortunately Frank "Fury" Nash wasn't able to clear the way quite enough, and he was tackled by M. Sammer half way down the Highflyers half.

The Highflyers responded by going after Kenneth "Hail Mary" Ross who was main thrower this match while Gary "Longbomb" Arlington was nursing his sprained ankle from last match.

Eager to show off his skill Kenneth "Hail Mary" Ross passed to Adam "the Executioner" Webster early on. This proved a wise decision by the rookie thrower. The very experienced blitzer ran the ball safely to the end zone after an impressive dodge away from Highflyers thrower U. Vikstrems. With the few ineffective blocks the Highflyer players threw, the Armadillo players easily screened off Adam "the Executioner" Webster who made the touchdown midway through the first half.

As much as the Highflyers seemed determined to play a fair match, their fans were of a somewhat different oppinion. The Armadillos lead was too much for them and they started throwing rocks at the Armadillo players. Lionel "Immobile" Boughton was hit in the head and had to leave the field, never to return.

This left a wide gap in the Armadillos defence, and the Highflyers was quick to take advantage of this, sending no less than three players through to try for the touchdown.

This left a bit of lacking on the defence of the ball carrier, and after a blitz on U. Vikstrems by Frank "Fury" Nash, he and Timothy "Stealth" White was able to put some preassure on F. Mandl who held the ball for the Highflyers.

The Highflyers tried to get clear but wasn't able to, and decided to stay put. An opportunity the Armadillos couldn't let slip by them. A quick run by Nigel "Featherweight" McBright and he was right beside F. Mandl. He wasn't able to fell him though, but while trying to stay on his feet he fell into a block from Frank "Fury" Nash instead.

All the Armadillos fans were on their feet expecting F. Mandl to be knocked down. What happened exactly is unclear, there was a lot of confusion around the ball at this time, but somehow Frank "Fury" Nash managed to get himself knocked out.

The Highflyers clearly though themselves safe after that display and while running down the right field side the forgot to defend from behind. Once again an Armadillo player was able to run in and block F. Mandl, this time it was Andrew "the Preacher" Stiles, who felled the Highflyers thrower but didn't get the ball. Still it was a step toward stopping the Highflyers.

Unfortunately not enough. The Highflyers had too much going for them at this time in the match and with a few blocks and a quick change of pace by U. Vikstrems, he was able to throw the ball to B. Piringer for a well deserved touchdown for the Highflyers.

The Armadillos set up to kick for the second half, and believe it if you will, the Highflyers fans started throwing rocks once again. It wasn't as bad as in the first half, since they had obviously used the most rocks then, but it was enough to knock down Kevin "Interception" Briers for a time.

We here at Light City Studios (tm) would like to appeal to the Armadillos fans to behave better than this when the Armadillos are playing at other teams stadiums. This behavior is outragious! We are expecting the Highflyers coach will state an official apology to the Armadillos coach later this week.

The Highflyers packed around F. Mandl at the start of the half. The many blocks on him in the first half must've been too much for the coach, for he told his boys to keep tight around him. The Armadillos decided to concentrate on the recievers instead and let the Highflyers have half their team stand on their own half doing nothing for a while.

The Highflyers moved forward slowly, not taking any chances, having a bit more time than they did in the first half. A lot of fighting went on around the center of the field for the first half of the second half. The Highflyers came out on top of that without doubt. Too many Armadillo players had to leave the field after blocks from the Highflyers and in the end they simply weren't enough to stop the Highflyers from scoring. Jeremy "Lightning" Welch did make a daring attempt dodging through several Highflyer players to get to F. Mandl, who still held the ball, but in his eager he tripped just shot of the thrower.

There was still a little time on the clock when the Highflyers kicked the ball down the field to the remaining eight Armadillo players. Timothy "Stealth" White, accompanied by Frank "Fury" Nash and Kevin "Interception" Briers, sprintet down the left side of the field.

The Highflyers moved into defencive positions, but was unable to keep Timothy "Stealth" White in check. He dodged from the Highflyer players and ran deep for the pass. Some great ball play by the Armadillos and a Long Pass by Kenneth "Hail Mary" Ross thrown perfectly.... and Timothy "Stealth" White fumbles the catch.

A well deserved victory for the Highflyers, though the fans were clearly dissapointet. And who can blame them. A routine catch, done a thousand times at practice, but the preassure was too great.

We here at Light City Studios (tm) still found this a very exciting match and we wish the Highflyers good luck in their future matches.
