“A highly frustrating game that I'm sure my opponant will agree should have really ended atleast 1:1 if not a 1:0 in favour of the rotters.
We gave a good account of ourselves in the first half, shutting down any possible recievers and chasing the ball upfield after a failed elven pass, only to lose the ball in the scramble to stage a zonal defence, our disturbing presence shutting down any passing game. This led to a failed catch and the ball being surrounded by the sf beast and a rotter, with support at the ready. Unfortunately my opponant rolled like a demon, knocking the beast down on a risky 1d, snatching the ball and taking it too far for us to recover.
We were looking at a draw, then and started out very well, the elves unable to pierce the cage. A flukey foul KILLED the beast of nurgle, although we managed to play a good positioning game, getting the beastman bc in a cage close to the td line. A lucky leap blitz from a wardancer and we lose the ball. No biggy, we surf the wardancer next turn with some shuffling, confident the single lin-elf won't be able to do anything after the 3+ pickup required due to all the disturbing presence and the lack of a reroll. How wrong we were, after a 3+, 2+, 2+, 6+, 2+ long bomb play with a -4 penalty (needing anything but a 6 to fumble) is successful without a reroll.
We manage to blitz the reciever, but a further lucky 1d pow and a stun means we don't have enough players to make the blitz throw and catch for the score.
And 30k...cool.
GG Alibaba, here's to the dice being reversed in the rematch :)
