“Riverdale Rumble September 2010 - round 1

Handicap against: Virus (of course it was. Because 11 wood elves is clearly too many. Especially when my niggler is a ST 4 Blocking beast named Audrey Horne)

This was an exciting game that went back and forth right until OT. Then it turned into a blood bath. I had used my apothecary on Bobby Briggs to prevent an SI (mng) because I would have been down to 5 players. It didn't matter, as both Pete Martell and Special Agent Dale Cooper were killed in OT on random blocks. No Mighty Blow, no Claw, no fouls, just your run-of-the-mill Block POW. 7 CAS to 1. AV 7 on rats my @$$ :)

Then to add some real insult to the nuffling in OT, I got crap for winnings and lost a FF. Not sure this team can be rebuilt, and even if it could, I'm not sure I want to try. Unlike skaven, wood elves are too damned expensive to suffer these kinds of losses. I don't really feel like being someone's punching bags for the 5+ games it will take me to replace the Wardancer and get my numbers back up to 11.

Good game, vlok. You were due some good luck and you got it. Hope it holds for you the rest of the tournament.

Edit: another nice TP reference, thanks vlok :) The one thing that made this beating so bearable was that we are both huge fans of the show. So we were trading TP quips back and forth the entire match. Vlok said he actually felt bad about killing Pete Martell since Pete was his favorite character on the show. I made the mistake of telling him my two favorites were Cooper and Truman. He BH Truman and killed Cooper. Me and my big mouth :) It was a fun game, but mainly because of the banter. At least my wardancers had some shining moments before going out.
