“WIL Premiership - Round IX

It's our last game of the season and we need a win to try and stay up next season. We're facing Shades_Steelfist's dwarves who bring Zara to counter our hire of Von Drakenborg. One handicap for us (bad press) and the dwarves are kicking.

Our first foul of the game sees a DP sent off in return for a stun.. come on ref! On their first turn Zara 1d dauntless blitzes the count for a perfect POW and their DP puts in an unassisted foul that badly hurts him! Luckily for us he regens!!

T2 and they make a 2d blitz on the ball carrier for a double POW to knock it free, though we recover on T3, though not for long as they make some difficult dodges to blitz it over again. T4 and we have the ball in range of the endzone, but Zara makes a -2d blitz through our STR7 mummy (double POW) to put a tackle zone in.. and the AGI4 ghoul double 1s the dodge!

Zara goes for a downfield pass to their waiting blitzer... but fumbles! We think it's pretty safe with a wight and a mummy by the ball but they can push back some space, make some more dodges and GFIs with their AGI4 blitzer and try for the pass again... but our wight intercepts!! We make space and run him around to handoff to the other wight who runs downfield out of range.

Zara puts in a clearly illegal block on our str5 mummy, putting them in the BH box, but getting sent off by the ref when we score right afterwards.

2nd half and we kick short but they recover well with a pass and then KO two of our players. T2 and they dodge + pass downfield to a runner who drops the pass. But it's well out of range of any of our players.. he just needs to pick it up.. fumble! We steal it - for a second - as our ghoul gets nicely crowdpushed, and a gang of dwarves have jumped up and down on our STR7 mummy for a BH + regen.

We're now down to just 6 players on the pitch vs their 11 and things look grim. We snatch the ball with the count and try and handoff to a ghoul for a (very hopeful) attempt at running it slightly into their half, but he drops it. The dwarves regroup, recover the ball, and totally dominate our few players left before running in the equaliser.
