“Greetings all to the first (unofficial) SOUPA league match-up! A game that saw a whole lot of Dark Elves in the stands.
The Dark Elves did what they do best and skillfully swept into the necromantic back field, getting in the way of anyone who would try to come to the rescue!
Unfortunately for them, a little-heralded Garbage Ben was there to salvage a save by rushing back and saving a TD by knocking the carrier down with a desperate lunge. Most of the half was spent with both sides shoving around in the Krew's backfield until the ball popped into the open. Troy Lett-Dukh cleaned up the mess and tossed the ball down field to Paul Molive, who put his soft hands to good use with the catch and put his team ahead 1-0 before the half could end!
The second half the Pythons had to kick off, and being down a couple of people who were knocked out in the first half seemed to inhibit their ability to pressure the ball carrier. Mr. Clean took matters into his own hands, scrubbing out a pair of Dark Elven linemen, and Vic Hume picked up another as Paul Molive took a gentle hand off and made it 2-0 with time to go. But time (and mostly the dice) were not at all in the Python's favour tonight, and the match concluded without much fanfare.
Thanks for the game, Mwilli72, you deserved better than you got!”
