“The Necros brought the plague and infected our nigglers with a virus!
Only notable thing about this match is that Vangar Palemoon, the Nightstalkers' sharp-heeled mangler met his maker. The Nightstalker's coach did not send the apoth on the field after his DP sustained a grievous injury dealt by a Flesh Golem. Rumours say the coach and Vangar have been at bitter odds with one another for some time and that it was a personal vendetta. But the coach said it was simply a decision based on team management and that the apoth needed to be reserved for a truly special player as the team's numbers are dwindling.
Basically the Nightstalker's had the ball for 2 turns, failed a 2+ catch then rolled Snake-Eyes on the subsequent turn on a dodge attempt (2+ again). They never touched the ball for the rest of the game except in the last turn of the first half where a 1-turn TD attempt was thwarted when a zombie lineman made a TARGET 11 interception!
Superb positioning by the undead, combined with tough dice luck for the Nightstalkers and inferior numbers made it so the elves could not attack the ball. And when elves dont have the ball or can't attack it - well they just try and muck up the field and end up getting bashed around instead.
Painful game - good thing the apoth was saved as the MV8 blitzer got niggled later on in the game, which the doc cured.
Just one of those games where you couldn't catch a break, make a roll get a pow or have anything go right. And to cap it off, ended up -FF and the lone SPPs (MVP) went to the dead DP.
