WIL Playoffs

We're up against gjopie's underdog chaos dwarves... but it looks like they have prayed to the chaos gods to grant them victory: we give up 3 handicaps and they get 3 nasty ones. It wasn't me removes a wight, I am the greatest (effectively) removes our +AGI ghoul, a niggle stops our other +AGI ghoul from playing, and morley's takes out a zombie. From a squad of 15 we can only set up 11 for the first kick off already!!

They roll up a blitz and quickly KO a zombie, though they don't threaten the ball landing near our end zone. We have the count hired (thankfully!!) and he secures the ball while a DP niggles their troll - they choose not to apo.

T2 and they KO a ghoul and put the pressure on in our half. We blitz the count over to the halfway line but on T3 they get enough players around him to 2d blitz him over for a KO! Disaster!

T4 and they dodge a hobgob to steal the ball, then dodge dwarves away from our STR7 mummy to cover the ball. We can just about dodge a ghoul through to 1d blitz him over, and then our wight dodges to steal it, but their +AGI centaur can dodge himself and recover the ball. T6 and our ghoul fails a dodge and they can run it downfield to safety, before stalling out til T8.

1-0 and the count wakes up but the ghoul + zombie don't so we have just 9 players vs 11 as we kick off for the 2nd half. Our enraged fans get the ref.

It's several turns before we are able to foul however, as we our outnumbered and trying hard to get blocks in. T3 and we finally make space for the count who dodges through to 2d blitz over their centaur carrier, but an awkward bounce makes it easy for them to recover. Fortunately they just can't get rid of the count and finally on T6 we can knock the ball free again to steal with a wight. They try and 2d blitz him over but can't do it and on T7 we make it 1-1! Nothing happens in our turn each so it's..

*** OVERTIME ***

We are chosen to receive which could be decisive, though neither team has any rerolls left. We have 11 players to set up again at least. They kick off and our fans get the ref again! The count fumbles the pickup on T1, giving them time to rush both centaurs into our half. T3 and he's surrounded but blitzes free with grace to run into their half. T4 and he needs to blitz again.. but rolls double skulls! They MNG the ghoul beside the ball and try for a pickup in a TZ.. but drop it. We push a dwarf into the ball twice, trying to bounce it free but it remains in the thick of the action and time is running out. More double skulls rear their ugly head for us and we just can't get the ball. They have a chance on T7, but drop the handoff and the game ends a draw- a cointoss giving the victory to the chaos dwarves!
