“The second game of the White Isle season saw the Barak Miners once more face off against Wood Elves, this time in the shape of somertown's Pine Valley Cosmonauts.
The Wood Elves were first to try and score, as the Dwarves tried to put pressure on the LoS, quickly injuring an Elf who had broken through the lines. Shortly after a failed dodge by one of the Elves allowed the Dwarves to steal the ball and score for 1-0. The Elves were quick to reply and the Dwarves could do little to stop them as the score quickly became 1-1. There was still time for another Dwarf attempt, but a Blitz put pressure on the Dwarves who, despite recovering were unable to score.
The second half saw the Dwarves receive against the diminished Elves. After a few turns the Dwarves had the ball secure and the Elves numbers had dwindled even further, leaving little to stop the Dwarves scoring for 2-1. Despite the few numbers and their MA10 out (fouled by the Dwarves to try and avoid a last minute reply), a quick snap allowed the Elves to try a heroic 1 turn, which only failed because their wardancer failed to catch the ball, leaving the game at 2-1.
Thanks for the game somer, best of luck for the rest of the season.”
