“Brook Miners were once again faced with their old rivals the Shanklin Savages.
The Miners received first and proceeded to move the ball down the field, quickly removing one of the Savages Longbeards. However, just as things were looking good the Savages found room for a 1D block and the ball was spilled. To make matter worse an amazing scatter on the next turn left the Savages with a chance to steal away with the ball, which thankfully they failed, so the Miners went on to score for 1-0.
The second half was a different story altogether, as the first few blocks from the savages removed 2 miners from the field, quickly followed by the DP who was sent off first foul (although to be fair he had freely fouled for most of the first half, not with much success mind). With numbers down the Miners did what they could first to pressure the Savages, initially to try to get to the ball, but later on to force an early score, neither successfully, as the savages scored for 1-1.
Thanks for the game Purp, best of luck with the rest of the season.”
