“A very fast paced game that was interrupted by a server crash. Fortunately it came back up. The Maniax won the toss and elected to defer, since it was raining. They played stout defense, but rats are rats, and the Ducks managed to get a Gutter Runner through our lines with the ball. We did force a quick score, and had enough time to score in return. The Ducks got a Blitz on the kickoff and parked a GR (slippery little vermin) under the ball, but he dropped it. After some very close calls, we managed to get the ball back and into the hands of the Catcher, 'ChronicY2K1'. He stalled out an extra turn on the goal line and we scored at the half. Second half a bad kickoff put the ball right in 'Big Teddy''s hands, and we scored quick. Almost too quick, as it turned out. An early Duck turnover allowed us to put 3 players on the ball and man mark nearly every rat. However, another GR (I sense a trend) dodged away, picked up the ball in traffic (5+, great job!) and dodged away to handoff to one of his GR cohorts. That one took off down the pitch and was well protected. Not well enough, though, as 'Grand Valley' dodged away, blitzed the GR down and picked up the ball. The Ducks made an attempt to get it back but couldn't get a POW and were out of rerolls. With some teamwork, the Maniax sprung Sheldon free, and he passed it to Roosevelt for his 2nd and the team's 3rd TD. A last kick off saw the Ducks get a few SPPs with quick passes behind their lines. Journeyman Richard Coldorc hurled himself at D.J. 'Fresh' Cooper and smashed his own ankle. 'Fresh' was as surprised as anyone, since he didn't realize the rat was blocking him until he was carried off the field.
Thanks for a fun game, robocoyote, and for hanging around to finish it tonight. Good luck with your team, and sorry the VP went to the broken Loner.”
