hmm, pretty scarry going against a 4 claw team. But I did see some reason for hope. 2 of the 4 had guard and piling on...and only 3 guards total..so I out guarded him by a long shot--especially if he used Piling on :) He also has some nice Bulls..
So, I get the opening kickoff and goes well..followed up where I shouldn't have, so gave him 2 blocks on the 1st turn. My AV 7 slayer was BH'd on the 2nd turn (by one of the claws..had a laugh at that blitz...but it did take him out of the game..)
But, I made a tactical mistake by advancing to far to quick with my runner, and the ball was knocked loose, one of the Bull's gets it, and I could not catch him. Around mid-half, I BH'd one of the piling on Claw's. My Turn7, I push his Bull in for the TD with a -2db (so he didn't get a turn 7). My turn 8, took out the other piling on Claw. (really was lucky to get these two..one had AV 10!)
So, kicking off 2nd half, I was down 0-1 and had 10 players to his 11 (A foul got one of my skilless blockers thrown out for a KO..) and I'd used one of the 2 Apoths to save the other slayer when he hurt himself dodging.
Kickoff went pretty much as expected..and he gang fouled my str 4 blocker (+8 to av roll with a sneaky git...way to make that skill useless :D)--stun. A thrown rock had stunned his Bull on the LOS, so I tried to foul him (think I might have got a stun), but pretty much the rest of the turn was positioning to prepare for his breaking thru.
Then the game turned my way..killed a skill less hobgoblin, took out the last guard (and next to last claw), mino frenzied into a -2db that KO'd him. Killed (apoth to mng) his last claw and got the ball loose. Took a few turns to secure the ball from the Bull's, but eventually I was able to break for the EZ, with so much of a player advantage. delayed one turn to score on turn 8.
Claw was not a factor in this game (except for me trying to limit him to one, or at most 2, claw hits per turn--which worked, this time. Got lucky with the injury rolls. Only one apoth used. not many (or any) KO's for babes to work on.
Tim, agility 5 blitzer, gets strip ball...”
