“This was a good game, despite the early body count. I'm still struggling with the constraints of the medium, but I'm getting confused less and I'm starting to see the patterns of the bad habits I've learned. I'm getting a little faster, though I'm still a tad slow. I'm still making dumb positioning mistakes that I'd never make on the tabletop, but that will go away as I play more matches. Fortunately, my opponent seemed relatively new to FUMBBL as well (but played a good game nonetheless), so I had a fighting chance, and I made the most of it.

The opening drive did not go my way, but he took some early damage and was playing without full numbers most of the time. The Undead gave as good as they got, but against elves, that's not enough. I wasn't able to stop them from T8 scoring, but the BRUTAL blocks in the opening drive of the second half left the Gondoliers crippled, and I hazarded a two-turn strategy, which went off without a hitch to tie the game and kickoff. The kick went deep, and though the Undead managed to advance the ball, they couldn't keep it going, and I scored the winning TD on T16. My dodges went well. His Blocks were hot in the first half and cold in the second; mine were a real grab bag; one turn I'd take out three guys, the next turn I'd skull. Both teams took some real damage, but ultimately came out better than they went in.”
