“This game went wrong in almost every conceivable way for about 14 of the 17 turns of this game. We failed, then failed, and after that, we failed some more. Rats departed the pitch at an alarming pace, and skulls and snakes were all over us like a 1980's heavy metal T-shirt.
We managed a single score in the early goings, which was ratty miracle with our rolls (hey, rats score, news at 11...). Then our inability to move rats kept us from stopping the 1-1 tie at the end.
Second half was brutal, with a slow grind that took us down to 1 journeyman left on the pitch by the end. We went down 2-1 and not enough rat-power to pull off an OTT...we had 5 players (both blitzers, 2 gutters, and a journeyman). We set up overloaded to one side to at least get some good blocks in before the end. All players were on the LOS.
RIOT!!! Oh, but the ball went to the back of the end zone. Well, we used our overload to get one of the gutters down the field a bit, and send the other most of the way to the ball. The norsemen attacked our LOS players ferociously, and man-marked our Ag5 gutter, who was the only threat to score. They advanced a couple linos toward the ball, but neither influenced the play...
With no rerolls and one shot to tie, we sent Kathmandu (and his -MA) back to pick up the ball (2+), made 2 GFIs (2+2+), then a Long Bomb (5+), avoided the INT (no 6 rolled), and Rome made the catch in one TZ (2+ with his +AG), the Dodge away fortunately succeeded (2+ w/rr) and he waltzed in for the miracle tie.
GG karrasahntemi. You had this one stolen, and I stole it right back for a tie ;)”
