First half, we protect the ball like a miser, caging, caging and more caging. There's only so much you can do against a ST4 SB/Tackle wardancer though, so we had to scramble to pick it back up a couple times, and take it back from a catcher once. Eventually we thinned out the elves enough to finish the half scoring in T8, but we still had to pick it up off the ground that turn :D . Mostly Useless' T8 was exciting, as they have a natural 1-turner, but a failed GFI as he snuck around my sideline did him in and the half finished 1-0 Dracos Parvus.
Second half started with a quick wood elf score. Not really a ton that could be done about that. With multiple easy scoring options and just one blitz, I made a threat of getting to the ball (even putting a TZ on it), and got MU to score early.
We took the ball in our half on a High Kick with out Ag4/Block skink. We did the whole sideline thing and protected the ball as best we could, but it was mostly a matter of making the woodies roll BAD blocks on the ball; stopping them entirely wasn't possible. Eventually the blocking dice warmed up, and we removed a few elves from the pitch. By T16, we had scampered away with the ball toward their end zone, surfed an AG5 catcher, and fouled Mr.Statty-Pants Wardancer to a stun. Their only standing player for T16 was a lino with lizards around him, who needed a 5+4+2+ to blitz my skink. He tripped and we held on for the 2-1 win.
GG t0tem. Always exciting.”
