#11 Bobby Briggs – Broken Ribs (MNG)

Great game against a fun coach. Score might have been different if either coach could have picked up the ball in the latter part of the 2nd half. Spent several turns just fumbling it around the pitch (1s for me, 2s for the humans). I finally got it to go up 2-0 at half time. Alas for poor Richard Quickwing, an extra hired on just for this 'episode' of the show, got his head booted in by a foul from Frank Zombie. The Ref immeadiately ejected the human Kicker, over his protestations that he thought his team was kicking and he mistook Dick's head for the ball. But the Ref was having none of it. I was thankful that Coach Skindog booted the Journeyman instead of a permanent cast member. Much respect for that.

Since I'd received first, I now had to try to get it away from the humans or at least prevent the score. The extra reroll I induced paid off huge in both halves. And Sheriff Truman put his new Strip Ball skills to good use (some Blitzes on kick off results didn't hurt either along with well placed kicks except for 1 that went out of bounds). I was able to score and go up 3-0 with time left on the clock but less players remaining. Certain 0 SPP line elves who shall remain anonymous were busy doing each other's hair in the KO box for an awfully long time. Last kick off and I managed to get the ball again, and was off to the races. However, I had to use a reroll on my first GFI and opted not to try a 2nd one with Sheriff Truman. I'm beginning to learn with elves (especially wood elves) you really have to push the limit. It's completely the opposite of most other teams I've played. That extra GFI would have prevent the blitz that required all kinds of silly dice rolls to hit (blocks to clear, dodges from both the assister and the blitzer, and gfis from the blitzer), but he made them all. What can I say, it was a great play and he didn't have much choice but to try it. He scored a KO too, but I used my apo to keep Sheriff Truman on the pitch. It almost paid off too, because on his next turn he had to make another improbable series of rolls and I had the ball marked with the other War Dancer. Naturally he made them, just denying me my 4th TD and a shutout victory that would have been worth another 3 E.L.F. points, but it was impressive enough to almost be worth it. Almost ;)

And just when I thought Nuffle had enough of me, the MVP goes to Mr. Richard Quickdick... er Quickwing. Apprearantl the fans enjoyed watching him get fouled headless on T8 of the 1st half. \_/

Thanks for a fun game, Skindog, and look forward to facing you again. Go Titans!
