“Well Bob, what can you say about this match, certainly an auspicious start to the 2065 season for the Dublin Death Row.
That's right Tom, an outstanding performance from a team that everyone had pegged as the underdogs of the group. It's hard to believe that this was the first time most of these guys have ever played the game professionaly.
Yes, with the exception of the Death Row number 5 Michael McCrea; who some of our viewers might remember was quarterback with the Boston Brawlers back in the early fifties, none of the team have ever played before this season.
But they do all have a special understanding of the finer points of murder and mayhem Tom. Each player serving time in the team a convicted violent criminal, surely that must be a huge advantage for them.
Well, to be honest Bob, I expected to see a lot more fouls, injuries and deaths, but the Death Row have surprised me with their disciplined play and teamwork.
Yes, despite having the Valby Valkyries down to only 5 men for a large part of the match, the only serious injury was a broken jaw for Brian Farrell of the Dublin Death Row.
True determination there by the Valkyries, many teams would have quit, but they stuck it out til the end. They'll be going into their next game with something to prove, and I think they could well prove to be to much for the Elsinore Kronenburgs to handle.
That's all we have time for this week, so until next time it's goodbye from me, Bob Barrett and my co-host Tom Kagan”
