Our fourth game in the tournament and our fourth Orc opponent. Fortunately our good buddy Morg was available and brought his friend Bertha with him. A total of 920k in inducements made this the biggest deficit we faced. The game started off with us kicking to the Orcs...they picked up the ball, blocked around a bit and then gfi'ed with the ballcarrier into a vulnerable position. Morg had a 2d block on the ballcarrier and made the orc pay...Jasmine (AG 4) swooped in to grab the ball - it was short lived as we lost it...but a scrum was started and we soon had the ball again...again it was jarred loose before we could break free - finally we managed to grab it and hand it off to Jasmine who raced to the very goal line. Alas our dodges failed so we were not protected and indeed a long blitz nailed Jasmine. The ball was free and our next turn was a snakes to start failure and this gave the Orcs time to recover. They were soon back downfield...but we kept getting in their way - with no RRs their ballcarrier (AG 3) made 2 dodges, but then with time ticking down they failed a handoff. With the ball loose - we started making some really nice plays - picking up the ball and dodging away on T7. Then on T8, a dodge, handoff (in a TZ), dodge and then long bomb to our AG 4 in the endzone for the score right before the half.
The second half we attempted push forward, but the mass of the orcs was just too much - our armor was paper thin today and we were crushed off the pitch. Fortunately, the Orcs failed to pressure the ball until it was too late - and we managed to stall out the half for the 1-0 win. With no RRs and Morg dead and most of our players gone - OT would have been a diaster - so we were fortunate to pull out the victory here.
Thanks for the game!”
