The Gholas of Dune were pitted against their racial nemesis a 2nd time today, facing the brand new Warlocks of Tiste Andii. This one was bloodier than the last game, and both teams will play shorthanded next game. The Gholas started off rather rocky, opening block was a double skulls, and last blitz of T1 was also a double skulls. Muad'dib muffed the first attempt to pick up the ball, and the Warlocks actually ended up with the ball for a while. A lot of back and forth action saw more Gholas leave the pitch in the 1st half, and the apothecary was useless (tried to turn a MNG on Duncan into a -AG broken neck). However, a dropped pass was all that prevented the Warlocks from going up 1-0 and receiving. But not before Thufir Hawat killed Jiriki and one of the Warlock blitzers smashed Chani's knee. 2nd half, the dice started turning against the Warlocks in an eerily similar fashion that the Gholas had faced the first half. Then when their rerolls were gone, they failed a GFI and dropped the ball where Stilgar could easily reach it. He was off to the races and had a decent amount of cover. The Warlocks peeled a few darkies off to pursue, but the blitz was just a push. The Gholas were able to dodge 2 assists away, and Stilgar blitzed free for a 1 dodge TD (used a gfi to reroll the blitz). With 2 turns left, the Gholas nailed a coffin corner kick 1 space off the endzone and 2 spaces off the sidelines. The Warlocks failed the first attempt to pick up, then failed a dodge that sealed their chances of scoring. The Gholas threw some blocks but couldn't reach the ball and only managed a final KO.

I scored more E.L.F. points so we'll keep the results of this game. It cost us a bit more, though as we'll have 2 journeyman next game, same as the Warlocks. I didn't think I was gonna pull this one out, and to be honest I didn't. The dice did. But since the dice put me in the hole in the first place, I'll happily take it. I just can't take a lot of credit for it. I think the only thing I did well was position my players on defense. My offense was pretty bad, as I keep wanting to play like I'm using Wood Elves. I need more skills.
