“I have to admit I was a bit nervous when I saw the draw, but I decided to give it my best AND try to have a fun game. Coach Gunslinger was actually rather fun to play against, and I was not expecting that as I had specatated some of his other games and read his bio. But he was fun to chat with, he made good moves and didn't ignore the ball, and he took his bad dice well (better than I often do).
The rain made it interesting, but didn't effect things too badly. It probably helped me a lot more since there were times on handoffs that it combined with my Disturbing Presence to stop the orcs short. Ugroth made a nuisance of himself early (BH that regened) but then smacked himself in the head with the saw. Both Orc DPers got tossed, but not before inflicting 1 BH. I got a BH of my own with a foul on a nice BoB. There was a nice scrum for the ball late in the 1st half that went back and forth for several turns. It looked like I had a breakaway only to fail an easy dodge and lose it. Then the Mighty orcs got it back and I thought for sure they were going to score. So I took a deep breath, made a tough dodge and blitz (with gfi) to get the ball back again and finally secured it. Took a GFI in 2 consecutive turns but got it into the endzone in T8. The score in the 2nd half was pretty lucky on my part. Another scrum resulted in the ball laying in a bad spot for me. With some non-turnover blocks, I was able to open a small hole for Van Damme to get to the ball which had only 1 TZ on it. A dodge and a gfi set up a 3+ pass and 4+ catch, but I had used the reroll on the gfi so I was naked. Made both rolls and van't Hoff ran it in again on T8.
Thanks for the fun game, Gunslinger. I would definitely play you again, though I know you'll be gunning for a little payback after the dice you had tonight.
Edit: This is the first time I've defeated a coach with a CR over 180. Giant Killer?
Skills (1):
Jacobus Henricus van 't Hoff - (2 6) Tackle. This was a tough choice for a 2nd skill, but I opted for Tackle. Clan Van didn't have it and it will pair well with Block and Mighty Blow. Now van den Berg can take Strip Ball to go with his Wrestle. Still trying to get the hang of what roles each Pestigor will play but it's becoming a little clearer.”
