#4 Flying Ostrich – Smashed Knee (NI)
#9 Sasquatch – Dead (RIP)
The Norse pounded down upon the hapless rats, who didn't know what was going to happen next. We turned the opening kickoff into a quick and easy score in 2 turns, but that was the highlight of the day, except for one play late...

The Norse took the kickoff and proceeded down the field, destroying our team one player after another. Our newest player, our rat ogre, blitzed the catcher but was unable to knock him over. He then withstood a barage of hits which would've driven him into the sidelines, refusing to go down (the enemy falling while gfi'ing to hit helped, too ;-) ). But he was unable to stop the catcher from tying the game in turn 8.

The Norse took the 2nd half kickoff, and the rats were only able to field 7 rats on the pitch. This number rapidly dwindled to only 4, and all seemed lost. But our rat ogre continued to make a name for himself. First he blitzed the ball carrier to the ground, allowing his teammate to make a grab for the ball. However, it was on the sidelines and the crowd threw it way down to the center of the field, where there was almost exclusively Norsemen. This didn't bother Ratty, as his teammates have taken to calling him. He blitzed his way through several blockers to actually grab up the ball right on the goalline, in the face of several oncoming Norsemen. He laughed at them, wasting his chance at moving for several turns, until he finally saw a wide-open rat way downfield and tried to chuck it to him. The ball came nowhere close--in fact, it got fumbled into the waiting hands of a nearby Norsemen--but Ratty laughed just the same. Something not right with that rat...

The game was lost, but the Norse mino got greedy and launched a sucker punch to the back of Ratty's head, only to slip in the mud and fall flat on his face, ending the game and the Norse chances at winning.

We pulled out a tie, but it was extremely expensive--we lost one rat entirely (winnings were just enough to replace him), while one of our two star gutter runners now has two niggles. He's due to retire as soon as we can afford his replacement. But next game we're in for a rough time, starting out short-ratted and all...

But for Ratty to be as important to the game as he was, and not get the game MVP? It's truly...

Unbelievable!
