Forlorn Spellbinders won the coin toss and chose to receive. It was a battle between two lightly armored teams and in the first half both team's protections held for the most part. The Elves went up the right side of the field to try for a quick score but the Blitzer dropped the ball. Speed Skills immediately had the ball going the other way and it also would have been a touchdown if not for another dropped ball. Someone must have oiled up the pigskin before the match as both normally great ballhandlers were unable to hold on. With the back to back turnovers, FS was able to avoid a quick deficit and their Blitzer was given a second chance. This time Ravashak caught it and ran into the end zone to put his team on the scoreboard.
SS received with plenty of time on the clock to counter. A Perfect Defense made things difficult for them and their quick score turned into a brawl. Elves and Skaven got into a fist fight at midfield as both teams tried to get the ball and get away. It looked like an Elf was going to come away with it but he fell over dropping the ball right in front of Puck. The Gutter Runner found Remy up the field and threw an accurate pass to his teammate that was caught. With the time dwindling down, Remy ran in the ball to tie the game up at the break.
SS received in the second half and a quick snap had them bursting into the Elven backfield. They tried to run some time off the clock even forming up a cage. About midway through the second half, they were forced to score. Remy would score again and he would put his team up by one.
FS received and the ball was kicked deep. Their Blitzer mishandled the ball and SS rushed to the backfield seperating the offensive line from their designated ball handlers. Torin the Quarterback of FS, made a nice pass over a Gutter Runner's head and into the hands of a Line Elf. Morgana sped up the left side of the field but he was unable to outrun Master Tang and Remy. Remy blocked the Elf down and the ball was fumbled at the sidelines.
Elves ran over to cover the ball but once again Remy came through for his team by landing a drop kick that shoved an Elf onto the ball. The crowd would bounce it between each other until a little Skaven boy got it. He would launch it to the other side of the field where Puck was in range to pick it up. Puck winked at their young fan and recovered the ball. He held tightly onto it as a Blitzer tried to knock it loose in a last ditch attempt. The failed block on the Runner sealed SS's victory and advancement into the second round.
