“Before the game, my opponent told me that he was enduring a truly ridiculous run of bad luck with his team. At least one player had died in each of his games. Well, none of his players died this time... but that's about all that can be said, as GOB and his men won a game full of failed dodges and skull blocks. I like to believe I'm a talented coach, and I like to believe I win by skill as often as not, but this was not a game like that. This was all Nuffle.
I will point out, though, that the Underworld team was deceptively fun to play. I dismissed it at first -- it's the bad half of a goblin team plus the bad half of a skaven team, etc. -- but after a coach in the NCBB channel was talking it up, so I brought it out.
Granted, the main selling point of this over just goblins (aside from the cool robe-wearing goblins and purple troll, of course) is the gobbos' mutation access. I haven't gotten there yet. But honestly, just having a few ST3 guys mixed in there worked wonders -- I could use stunties to get assists without having to turn around and block with the same stunties. And this is a game in which a werewolf injured one of my blitzers on Turn 1.
Again -- opponent was Nuffled, and I'll acknowledge that. But I'm excited about this team, and will be. At least until I see what they look like when I face an opponent who isn't rolling quad skulls and getting BH'd by goblins on a 2db both down. Better luck to DMarr... he's earned it. ”
