“The Brethren were primed for another holy day.

Some of the Drunken revellers from Last weeks victory made it to the actual service, rather than heading straight to the match. Pre Game prayers were said, and sacrafices were made. This was a day for Blood Bowl.

As the Teams walked out to the field, a clap of thunder came from nowhere, and rain poured from the sky. Surely a sign from the Horned Rat. (Regular readers may remember the last time there was a sign from the Gods, and just how badly that turned out).

Gorbuck Kicked the ball deep into the back field, and nearly close enough for the conngragation to touch. Fan Favourite, and management maligned Azock managed to create a break on the LOS despite a 2 on 1 blocking system, and allowed the Gutters and Blitzers to pour into the unprepared Blackwater back field. A trip from Irksiz the Brown on David "Tight Lips" Gamibno stopped the Sting from Scambling back and securing the ball, and Zulbag one Ear was able to scamper through and score the opening touch down.

The Kick-off from Gorbuck was slightly too deep this time and Ryan "The Baptist" DiMarco was given the ball on a touch back, which he passed off to the playmaker David "Tight Lips" Gamibno. The Skaven applied pressure on the ball carrier, and while sprinting away, he triped, fell, and was knocked unconcious. The ball fell into the hands of Brian "The Grin" Ricci, so all was not lost for the Dark elves. Azock attempted to knock him down, but "The Grin" managed to stay on his feet. Nicholas Darkbone managed to clear a half gap, and Brian "The Grin" Ricci dodged through, scoring the equaliser.

From the Kick Off the Brethern pushed foward, but a pass from Pulo the Infected was dropped by Irksiz the Brown in the wet conditions, and the boys from Blackwater were able to recover. Ryan "The Baptist" DiMarco was tripped by Skreetz as he tried to get in a position to protect the ball carrier, allowing Fugrat the opportunity to come through and bash Stuart "The Hammer" Romano to death. The Apoth tried and experimental concoction of Nightshade to treat him, but this proved ineffective. The combination of Blood, rain and spilt poison made the ball to slippery for either team to pick up, and the teams went to the half 1-1.

From the restart the gutters snaked around the flanks, while the other players tried to tie up the elven defence. Pulo the Infected's pass managed to find Lurz the Hook who crossed the line for a simple score. 2-1.

Another deep kick from Gorbuck, and he followed it up with a rib cracking hit on Ryan "The Baptist" DiMarco. This left David "Tight Lips" Gamibno isolated in the back field with the Brethren pushing forward. He tried a clearing pass to James "The Shadow" Stefano, but it was dropped in heaven sent rain. Pulo the Infected ran through picked it up and passed in out to Irksiz the Brown to cross the line. 3-1

Once again the kick was deep, but this time Brian "The Grin" Ricci bought the ball out quickly, and passed to David "Tight Lips" Gamibno in a loose cage. Lurz the Hook and Irsz the Horned One were able to dodge in, and the hit from the latter badly hurt "Tight Lips". His attmpt to dump the ball off was unsuccesful, but in the resulting scramble Zulbag one Ear was tripped, and Nicholas Darkbone put the boot in, ending Zulbag's game. Pulo the Infected managed to scoop up the ball and run into space, but he was dragged down, short of the line by James "The Shadow" Stefano. The loose ball was then picked up Brian Ricci, who mistakenly threw it to Azock, who was able to stroll across the line and score, thanks to Irsz the Horned One's vicious takle on Stewart "Mr Fixit" Guiseppe weak leg.

And with 2 wins in a row under the belts, the fans and converts keep arriving the growing temple. The Rumours are flying around that next weeks opponents, the Famous Slumbering Skinks have had to be paid extra inducements to face the children from the temple. But that's a story for next time...
