“GLT VII: Forlorn Races Qualifiers 2 (1st Round):

Fight Gone Bad came into the game an underdog so they were allowed to hire the services of the great Morg 'n' Thorg. A Halfling Master Chef also provided them some home cooking helping their game and distracting the opposition (1st half 1rr, 2nd half 2rr's).

Brudge won the coin toss and chose to receive in the pouring rain. FGB responded with a Perfect Defense that pressured the offensive line. Face Eater, the strongest Vampire, was neutralized by Morg on the left side of the field. Lance drew first blood by killing a dirty player by the sidelines. Together with Morg, they were able to dominate the left side of the field sending the Vampire ball carrier heading up the right side.

Speedy Silent Death carried the ball upfield but his foot was sucked into the mud sending him splashing onto the field causing a fumble. FGB quickly swarmed the Vampire and Surrel made a big recovery picking up the ball with no problem. Brudge was unable to get anything going as things went from bad to worse. First, Silent Death tried to redeem himself by chasing after Surrel. He got all the way to the Thrower but this time his foot just slipped sending him down in an awkward splits. Lestat then failed an easy dodge to get in better position.

Surrel knew he had hung around long enough and called for his teammates to cover him as he ran towards the goal line. He would go all the way for a defensive touchdown that put his team up by one at the break.

FGB received in the second half and Brudge returned the favor with their own Perfect Defense. They stacked the left side of the field where they kicked the ball. Norsemen scrambled to surround the ball and began to work on the defensive line. All but one Vampire player put on the line was knocked off their feet. Agile Blood Hunter leapt over the offensive line but could not knock down the Norse ball carrier, Tarrant. Morg shoved the Vampire next to Lance. Blood Hunter knew he was in danger of being thrown into the frenzied crowd so he took a dive before the Ulfwerener got any more momentum.

Tarrant moved the ball up the field as he was wary of the infamous hypnotic gazes. His teammates tried to cover him but Silent Death was not to be denied. He brought Tarrant down twice. On the second take down the ball was fumbled next to the sidelines. Tarrant tried to pick it up but it slipped into the crowd. The fans threw it close to midfield where both teams fought to recover it. Konan, already bloody from a couple kills earlier in the match, killed his last victim, the only Brudge player in scoring range. With that player dead, Nobunaga threw the ball up in the air (and Surrel caught it for a completion) to celebrate their advancement into the second round.
