After poor KO rolls (maybe we really should have gone for Barik and a babe instead for a second, not used apothecary) we defended with only seven players in the second half. Our opponents didn't exactly hurry their offense, but took their time to bash more of us into the ground (luckily no permanent damage was caused, thanks to our reliable apothecary who changed a kill into a MNG!). In turn 12, only four or five dwarves were left on the pitch, but then Ramnah got into action: Dodging twice (into one and two tackle zones) she hit the rookie ball carrier heavily, fracturing the poor girl's skull and thereby ending her career (while earning her 100th SPP with this action). The more than slightly astonished amazons knocked her down and recovered the ball, surrounding her with several players to prevent something like that from happening again. They didn't pay enough attention to Brumbas, our elf-like blocker though: He dodged away from two players (4+), dodged into a tackle zone (5+) while going for it two times (2+, 2+) and bringing down the new ball carrier with a 1db! Heavily confused, the girls picked the ball up again, pinned all remaining dwarves to the ground... But Rhoda dodged free and assisted Ramnah, who jumped up again, doging her way to the (third) ball carrier, knocking her down, too. Unluckily she wasn't able to repeat her magic in turn 15, so our opponent was finally able to score the 1-0 in their last turn.
Both teams were out of team RRs in the end and if one of the amazons' pick-ups had failed, it would have probably gone into overtime.
What a match: Intense and full of ridiculous dice rolls, more broadly spread for Dhaktokh, culminated on a few crazy actions for me.
And great fun all the way - thanks a lot, it was a magic game!
I actually took this game as a reason to finally establish a "remarkable games" section on my Agility Monsters' team page.
Good luck to those brave girls with their hilarious dice! :-)”
