“Though it can't be denied that our team was more experienced, there's a certain challenge to taking on amazons at this point, even with two tacklers. They're frustratingly resilient, and overskilled, and all the other things you've already heard said. This was a tough game, and we did have to throw our share of blocks, but we scored two TDs and emerged triumphant.

I know we like to score more TDs than casualties, and we didn't here, but here's some consolation: we didn't out-cas an AV 7 team. Similarly, only one pass isn't great, but Gumstrong got injured in the first half.

Only one thing cast a pall on an otherwise good game: Da Goof, who's been as close to a star as we've had (honestly!), broke his hip the turn after scoring the winning TD. We still need to keep him until a better solution for cagebreaking comes along, though. (And let's face it... in '95, I would have hung on to that goblin FOREVER.) Worst part is, that 5/3/3 stat line makes him look like -- horror of horrors -- an orc lineman!

Anyway. We're still winning games, and we were able to afford a black orc for the next game. So we're back up to 4 BOBs and 4 blitzers. (And no apothecary... though honestly, we don't have anyone THAT special to save yet.) Strung got frenzy -- we're making him into an open-field knockdown specialist. The guy who blitzes forward on offense, or brings down the receiver if the opponent wants to play the forward pass.
