The first half started shakily, the Wraithwings burning 2 rerolls in 2 turns to score in the third. 1-0

Jock, in response, surged up one wing, and showed he is a canny opponent, as he proved by patiently letting Taurelin Fastspear Leap into his cage, Strip the ball, then crowdpushed the Wardancer, who was KO'd. The Wood Elves were whittled away, and were eventually left with only one move - Brendal Brightnoon jumped to his feet, and Wrestled the hulking Warrior with the ball to the floor all by himself. The scatter was not kind, and his teammates could only put their bodies on the line by surrounding the ball. They were slapped aside, but the blocks it took meant the Chaos had a pass to make, which was dropped. HT 1-0

The Chaos started the second half much as they had the first - this time, a Catcher was crowdpushed, and with few Elves left, they had no difficulty scoring this time.

The Wood Elves had to score - with a tough line to crack, the journeymen set about the Beastmen, and Catcher and Wardancer combined to Blitz through to the backfield. The Chaos man marked both, and pressured the ball. It was all or nothing. The Wardancer had to dodge twice and blitz aside the beastman harrying the Catcher, but he tripped on his first dodge, Dodge not helping with the 1-RR-1 roll. With the ball hopelessly exposed, the Chaos brushed aside the would-be passer, Brendal Brightnoon, and scooped up the ball, Again, Brendal leapt up and Wrestled the Warrior to the floor, and his colleague rushed back to stop the score. However, a Warrior passed his dodge and ran in the winner.

Against a very competent opponent, this game highlighted to me just how tough it is for Wood Elves in the box - they are totally at the mercy of Nuffle, and if it goes bad, they get hurt. However, I suffered no perms, and added a 2nd Wardancer to the squad, so just the 4 Journeymen again for the next game...
