Never one to back down from a challenge, and eager to test out Garyn’s newest batch of recruits, Xizor jumped at Jabba’s offer of a friendly match and wasted no time loading the team on his personal cruiser and making the jump to Tatooine. Only later did he regret wagering the cost of the match on the outcome… how tough could a bunch of musicians be anyway?

Two halves of Blood Bowl under the brutal Tatooine sun and Xizor had his answer. The Black Sun squad, as overconfident as only new recruits can be, were humbled by the far more agile and surprisingly rough and tumble Modal Nodes. The only highlight of the match came when late in the first half a unassuming Bothan named Merrick scampered to the endzone to briefly tie the match. However the one recruit to actually display the makings of a true Black Sun Pirate was the lovely Corellian Ainzlee, who post match was seen using her womanly charms to dupe the official into granting her the MVP bonus… which she quickly wasted on a shiny new blaster and too much grog.

A disappointed Xizor gathered his bruised and battered squad and in a rare display of generosity allowed them to enjoy the post match concert given by the Nodes. The generosity was short lived however as a grumbling Xizor received the bill for the match, which can only mean many parsecs of latrine duty for his recruits.

After a quick Blood Bowl boot camp, it was time for Jabba to see what he had here. So he booked the band-turned-team for a combination friendly match and concert. They would face the expansion team recently founded by Prince Xizor, Jabba's fellow crime lord. Then the survivors would play music.

Well, not only was the post-game concert attended by 17,000 screaming Modal Nodes fans, but the band was able to play all their hits, because everyone made it through just fine. There was no doubt that Doikk Na'ts, master of the Fizzz, was the crowd's favorite; the weedy-looking Bith was a huge surprise, scoring three touchdowns and generally looking like he was born to be a star athlete. But of course, when it came time for the MVP bonus, Figrin stepped in and claimed it for himself. Meanwhile, Max Rebo's boys showed a remarkable aptitude for handling themselves in a fight, knocking two henchmen from the game entirely.

But the biggest surprise was the haul... 90,000 credits. Even with Jabba's 95% cut of the profits, that's more than the band has made for a gig in months. It doesn't come close to paying off D'an's gambling debts -- how much does that guy OWE Jabba?! -- but it definitely makes a cut in the numbers, and keeps the band happy.
