#14 Athanas Swordsoul – Gouged Eye (MNG) #5 Lenolas Starlighter – Dead (RIP) #12 Nimloth Havenspire – Dead (RIP)
“My goodness, what a struggle to do...well, anything right.
Kicking first, the High Elves kept a tight defence, until the ball carrying Goblin stuck his nose out too far. The High Elves then proceeded to throw 8 dice over 2 turns at him, 4 from a Blitzer, and he survived them all. However, with his route to the endzone blocked, he doubled back and attempted to pass to a team-mate. Raldor Whiterock stuck out a hand and intercepted. With the Orcs wrong-footed, and their backfield exposed, Whiterock jinked through a gap made by his colleagues, but with a Short Pass to a lightly marked Catcher, fumbled. A ruck ensued, and the High Elves blew chance after chance to score, failing pretty much everything. The Orcs weren't faring much better, and half-time was reached, scoreless.
The 2nd half offence by the Shadestalkers was stymied by a Perfect Defence - they tried to switch the play, but there was no way through, and eventually, had no choice but to lob it to the waiting Lenolas Starlighter, who ran into the backfield, while his team-mates tried to cover him. Alas, they didn't manage it, and Lenolas was killed by a Blitzer. The Goblin, however, couldn't retrieve the ball, and the High Elves rushed forward to pressurise. Eventually, it paid off, and Ivronas Ironcraft dodged and picked up the loose ball, much to his coach's surprise, as he'd grown accustomed over the game to his players performing like Zombies, to score the winning TD.
Required to stand on the LoS for the last turn, Nimloth Havenspire was killed by the last hit of the game.
