“Pouring rain contributed to conservative but competent performances by both sides. Touchdowns were traded in the first half, though the Protectors missed the opportunity to go in 2-1 ahead as they failed to capitalize on a Blitz kick off, dropping the crucial pick up only a few paces from the endzone.
The second half saw the Protectors progress comfortably up the pitch, but Coach Wang's positional mind was sluggish after a hard day moonlighting as an English teacher, so the team chose a relatively quick score rather than stalling in the hope that they could hold the norsemen back for the remainder of the half. However, positioning on the final turn wasn't as tight as it could have been and the norse runner made some dodges through just a single tacklezone to tie up the score on turn 16.
Ultimately a chance missed as the Protectors enjoyed slightly better luck throughout, but still an encouraging performance that saw both rookie catcher skill up and several other players move closer to doing so.
Go Protectors!”
