We've been given a 2nd chance this season vs King_Ghidra's high elves. They beat us 2-1 at the start of the league, but today's winner gets a spot in the premiership. They had a +AGI catcher that ruined our game last time.. and this time they have TWO of them!!
We pack a wizard and they force us to kick first. We kick short with our kicker and roll up a blitz! The ball is going to land right in the corner by the LOS so we rush players up and make the catch with our +AGI ghoul!
They counter by POW blitzing a tackle ghoul for a BH (they have zero tacklers!). We then crowdpush a leaping agi5 catcher (stun), while on T3 they -AV injure a wight (regen!). Meanwhile we are in their half with all our players, with a blodger holding the ball and both mummies nearby. They get a few 1d blocks and a single 2d blitz on the ball but cannot find a POW. By T6 they are putting bodies desperately between our cage and the endzone, trying to stop us getting over the line, but on T8 we can make it with a single 3+ dodge and our +AGI ghoul has made it 1-0!
Receiving for the 2nd half with 11 vs 11 and we still have our wizard - things are looking good for us right now. We advance into their half with the ball and plenty of guard around it, but on T2 a wrestle catcher makes a nice series of -1 dodges to 1d POW the ball carrier. It lands in two tackle zones behind our lines.. but a blitzer dodges through and steals it! We can just about manage to knock him over but we haven't recovered the ball. It's in ONLY three tackle zones ... so the elves dodge through, grab it and pass it downfield for the equaliser!!
We have 4 turns to win it but have to collect a very deep pass, with the elves putting pressure from every angle. T7 and we're forced to run our ghoul with the ball alone into their half... they have no tacklers but can surely put 4-6 dice of blitz on him where he is..
They go for the option with 4 dice... and find the POW on the 4th and BH him!! Argh! They then make a pass and handoff to secure the win.
We have a turn left and try for the one turn TD (with help from our wizard to clear space) but cannot get it together.
