“GLT VII: Main Event - Final

This game didn't quite go according to plan, though much of it went according to expectation.

First half, we receive, and we get nothing but KOs against an opponent who has a babe. Nevertheless, we make ESBI burn an apo on their +ST/+MA catcher (RIP) and score in T8. Despite a harrowing and lucky OTT push attempt, Nuffle saves the day with snakes at the last dodge. 1-0

Second half, we get a GREAT shot at the ball. Team captain Brakgul Deathbringer takes his 4+ Dodge into a loose, screeny cage sort of thing and drops the ball carrier. It lands in a TZ though, and the 4+ to secure the ball (with SH reroll) fails. A ballsy ignoring of TZs results in the elves securing the ball (somewhat), giving up a 1db that fails to loose it again. Then I get absolutely professionally elf-stalled on for the rest of the half. We "took out" their DP, using the ref, and burned our APO on the KO of Brakgul. 1-1 and regulation ends with a -ma to a lino in T16

OT: I lose the flip and write the game off. 8 remaining elves are too much to stop. BLITZ!! The single luckiest event to occur to me on FUMBBL. I break through a loose elf line, opposite from their overload offense (thank you, Kicker Magar!), burning a reroll to get a lino down for a clear path. Saurfang uses his MA7 to get under the ball, and the rest of my players who can make it get over to screen. Thmp Saurfang makes the catch. A failed dodge burns an ESBI reroll, and they only get a push on their blitz. They crowd around as best they can, which is pretty well. A couple blocks, and Brakgul dodges out to blitz a path clear. Still marked, Saurfang manages a 3+ dodge and a 2+ GFI to win the sudden death OT on T1.
