#9 Kelmaul – Fractured Leg (MNG) #7 Bonewalker – Dead (RIP)
“The second season of the CBBL kicked-off with a classic rivalry match. Coaches Thul and J_K_B have clashed time and time again, over multiple leagues and seasons, and each game seems to grow in anticipation and intensity. On the blood-stained pitch this day, Thul's Oblivion Knights faced J_K_B's Creatine Junkies
The Knights won the toss and elected to receive a kickoff the bounced within yards of the 50-yard line. The Chaos squad wasted no time in swarming the clumsy Saurus players on the Junkies, engaging them relentlessly with Chaos Warriors and Beastmen. Overcoming an early blocking mistake, and aided by a Kroxigor who forgot what team he was playing on, the Knights were able to quickly march downfield to score on turn 4, while their brutal leader Mulcana (Minotaur) battered and bruised the opponent. The fans were so frenzied over the score that they stormed the field and proceeded to stun several players on both squads. This resulted in a mid-field scrum over the ball until the half elapsed.
Undermanned to start the second half, the Junkies found it difficult to stop the swarming attack of the Knights, who once again used their players to tie-up the Saurus threats before targeting the Skink ball carrier. The ball soon found its way into a Beastman’s hairy hand and after a difficult dodge away from a looming Kroxigor, the Chaos squad sealed their win with a second score.
Another riot (this time instigated by the players) caused the ref to turn the clock back, giving the Junkies more time to seek revenge. Although unable to score, the Lizards finally found their fists – killing one of the game’s scorers, Bonewalker (Beastman), and battering Kelmaul (Beastman) so badly that he will miss the next game.
After the decisive 2-0 victory, match commentators awarded Mulcana with the MVP for his 2 CAS performance. The Minotaur was so pleased, he sprouted claws and skewed the announcers for a mid-day snack.”
