“Sterling Cooper found itself in the big leagues this game -- a wood elf team with 200+ games played, and a truly fearsome 6 AG catcher. (Though not their most famous star, the nearly legendary Achilles.)

And the results are in: we're not ready for the big leagues.

While we were able to bash a couple of the elves, they just kept coming. Our carriers were no match for the enemy wardancers -- indeed, a wardancer killed our wolf (the unskilled one, fortunately.) The aforementioned catcher got pretty much wherever he wanted throughout the game, completing four passes and dodging all over the place. As soon as the ball became available, the elves pounced on it and moved out, as elves are wont to do. Meanwhile, a rash of double skulls compounded the problems caused by some truly lousy handling on the part of... well, Kinsey mostly. (And a couple mental lapses on the part of me.)

Still, no harm done -- Lane will be replaced next game, and as embarrassing as the result was, it's just one game. Clearly, we need to keep accumulating skills.”
