Vaevictis Asmadi got a wizard and a bribe for this qualifying game, but even so it was a tough prospect to take on the bigger HE. The wizard did get us the ball briefly on the HE drive, but they elfed it right back and scored 0-1 anyway. On our drive we fumbled the ball and that's not something you get away with against high TV elves. They stole and hid the ball and stalled the game out.

The humans had bad dice (at least three double skulls, two of which in the same turn, causing me to go for the ball) more often than the Feathers (a snake on a 2+dodge to pick up the ball resulted in a mng for my blitzer, apothed in badly hurt). I got a somewhat lucky recovery after the wizard (the ag5 catcher is definitely worth his salt), which eventually turned out to win me the game.
The match was interrupted for a day after a disconnection from my side (Liberian internet is crappy), so I don't recall the exact details of the game. I had to stall the match out, a thing at which I don't excel (I prefer to play under pressure as the underdog), but I managed to do it without too much trouble and with Nuffle's blessing (and some good pow's).
A lite RIP on a good strip ball blitzer was painful though, as well as the mng on a blodge sidestepper in the last turn of the game. It sucks that both blitzers got unluckily casualtied even when they were not particularly targeted, but hey, that's the price to play with the big guys in a major!”
