A rematch against a preseason opponent that had...well...um...slaughtered us? They came in confident and cocky - just like we hoped. They certainly seemed ready as they blitzed on the opening kickoff and the ball was loose as our clear attempt failed. Certainly it looked like a defensive score for the Amazons was just a matter of time...but then Steven Jackson (Troll) came though big time and a good bounce later and John Greco grabbed the loose ball and took off! A failure on the gfi by the zons left the way open and Greco scored for the 1-0 lead. The Amazons had plenty of time - but we started to pound them - with our 2 enforcers hitting them HARD...some fouls as well and soon 6 amazons were off the pitch and after their pass attempt failed - we finished the half up 1-0...second half, both KOed amazons came back to make it 11v7 game. A good kick...we managed to grab the ball - then a 1d blitz and it was loose - the amazons had it...we had the 2d but failed and burned another RR...the amazons would not be denied and it was 1-1. Still 11v7 as KOs woke up again - we went to work...surfing two amazons we pressed up the sideline...the goblins bravely stood in the path - several getting blasted for it - but they bought enough time for a T16 score by Bradford for the upset victory!
