“On paper, a very even contest, but the Stealers lived up to their name and stole the ball repeatedly off their opponents shortly after nearly every kickoff to score again and again.

The opening minutes of the game were brutal, with 2 deaths inflicted on each team. The Stealers failed to pick up the ball at first, but still managed a quick TD after a rifled quick pass from the strong-armed Snitch Silvertongue to the Gutter Runner Thanquol, near the line of scrimmage. Thanquol then ran downfield to hand off the ball to linerat Lurch who was very suprised to see the ball since his job was to sacrifice himself by stopping the Gliders from swamping the Rat Ogre Spleenrip.

With coach Greyseer Malthor yelling, 'run you stupid little runt' and motioning to cast a spell to turn the rodent into a ball of singed rat, Lurch finally got the idea and ran in his first career TD.

The Stealers then kicked off, and the Gliders pushed deep down the left side despite a pitch invasion that left two of their players stunned. The Stealers collapsed onto the penetrating Amazons, but were unable to stop the score.

The first period was ended shortly after the Stealers pushed deep on the next kickoff, and scored their second TD, with the Gutter Runners Thanquol and Kwikkwik combining on a pass and run into the end zone.

The second half was a nightmare for the Gliders who suffered a blitz and a couple of quick turnovers. The Stealers penetrated deep into Glider territory after every mistake, and capitalised with a TD on three separate occasions.

Commisserations to the opposition coach Viyon, who suffered dearly from some very unlucky kick off results (2 Blitzes and a Pitch Invasion) and also some mis-clicks of the mouse which led to unwanted dodges and turnovers. Being hungover probably did not help with his mouse control, but he was a great sport despite the one sided affair.”
